Down East

I’m just starting a piece that is trying to convey a sense of space and atmosphere, while having no elevation with which to work. Except the power lines along the side of the road. This one is going to have to convey the receding space in the arc of the sky and, somehow, along the thin strips of marsh and scrubby trees that recede along the roadside. There is a wonderful punch of deep blue in the cut along the left side of the highway, that adds a little eye interest. We’ll see how this one goes! 24x48” oil on linen work in progress-
