Cold as hell!

It's been a cold week or so here in the area. We got a good little covering of snow on Wednesday night, and have managed to crawl into the low 30's the last 2 days, with lows somewhere in the teens. Coupled with the wind, we've felt like single digits at night. That's cold for this area! I'm sure people up north would say, "Yeah? So what's so unusual about that?" But for me, it's cold as hell! Especially in the studio, which hasn't seen 50 degrees inside in well over a week. It was 43 the day I worked on this, which seems colder when you're inside than it does outside for some reason... Not much painting going on anyway, because I'm pulling things out, and trying to get this move to my new space going.

It's actually pretty frustrating to not be able to spend more than an hour at a time doing what I feel I'm programmed to do, which is sling a brush. I did get to paint my new studio walls, so I got to use a 3 inch brush, but it doesn't scratch the itch, if you know what I'm sayin'... However, I have managed to paint what is probably my last piece in the Beaufort studio. It didn't quite get this little 9x12" oil finished, because the snow kept me away yesterday, and I really need to concentrate on packing! But it will be touched up as soon as I break the paints out at the new place, and should be a nice little piece. It will be a fun warm up to get me back in stride at my 1103-A Arendell Street Studio! Then it's on to some larger pieces, which I haven't gotten to in well over a month now. Exciting times ahead!
